High Country Books loves connecting authors with readers in our region by scheduling a visit to Glen Innes, and hosting a moderated author talk at our venue – The Makers Shed – on the third Saturday of the month.

Our region is situated on the New England Highway, the perfect inland route for authors conducting book tours between Sydney and Brisbane. The Makers Shed is the only independent bookshop within a 100-kilometre radius, but we are part of a network of bookshops that can add value to a book tour of the New England North West.

On the third Saturday of each month, our regular book club meets from 10am-12pm, and our monthly writer’s support group from 1-3pm.

If you can get yourself to Glen Innes, we’ll promote and put together a lunchtime author talk (12-1pm), moderated by journalist and author Michael Burge, with our literature-loving regulars – and the general public – in attendance.

We’d stock your book, promote it (and you), provide a light lunch, and have a book signing at the end of the session.
